But seriously, this film. Not only does it refuse to take itself at all seriously, it also reverses the gender balance of most action films entirely. There’s ONE male character of any note, and he spends most of his time a) providing a romantic interest for a secondary character, and b) trying to get one of the protagonists to talk about her ~feelings.
The rest of the time it is straight-up women. Women kicking ass and having friendships and wielding guns and falling inconveniently in love with each other.
